Villa or Apartment
One of the great things about Dubai is that you can often afford a larger home than you could back home. When you finally decide to move here, you’ll have to decide whether you want to live in a villa or an apartment. Many residential areas have both which gives you more choice. If you have children, then opting for a villa with a garden for them to play in would be smart, especially if there are no recreational activities nearby. If you don’t have children, then paying the often steep rent for a villa may not be an attractive option for you. If you do have children but can’t afford a villa, there are areas that provide a place for them to get out and play. One such place is Uptown Mirdif – a residential complex offering both townhouses and apartments.
Another thing to consider is the cost of maintenance. Villas in Dubai almost always have a garden and more and more come with a swimming pool. You’d have the hassle of finding (and paying!) someone to do the maintenance, as mowing your grass under the scorching sun won’t be something you’ll want to do. Also, your DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) bills would be much higher for a villa than they would for an apartment.
With these points in mind, we hope we have made choosing the right kind of accommodation for you and your family a little easier.
