For visitors in wheelchairs, or with other special needs, there are a number of facilities available, as well as establishments that sell equipment that may be of use to you.
Driving License for Wheelchair Visitors
Drivers with disabilities may apply for a temporary driving license from the Licensing Department of the Dubai Police, General Head Quarters, if the applicant holds a valid driving license from one of the following countries:
- Arab Gulf Cooperation Council Countries
- Europe: Germany, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Holland, France, Â Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, UK, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Denmark, Iceland and Ireland
- USA & Canada
- East Asia & Australia: Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand
- South Africa
Requirements
A translation of the original driving license into English should be obtained from the relevant embassy or consulate in Dubai and will need to be submitted together with the application.

Special Parking Tag
Wheelchair users can obtain a special car parking tag from the Licensing Department of Dubai Police General Headquarters upon submission of a medical report from their home country or from a local hospital.
